What is so special about KKEV Cambodia?
Direct care and support of children
The children
The children who find a home in the children's village or, in the case of the SCP, a reliable point of contact for all school-related matters.
Psychological support
Children who need psychological support receive it. They learn to deal with their various emotions and to concentrate and organise themselves better.
The alumni
Former KKEV Cambodia children who, even as young adults, maintain contact with the children and staff and are important role models for the younger children.
The local team
Complementary skills and expertise, a wealth of experience, absolute commitment to providing optimal support for children and continuity – on average 7 years.
Cooperation and integration into the community
Integration into local society and culture
Attending public schools enables the children to make friends and contacts in the neighbouring community of Sen Sok. The children receive lessons in traditional Khmer dance, Khmer musical instruments and meditation, and thus experience Khmer culture.

Close co-operation with the authorities
Neighbours or relatives report the situation to the relevant department. The Cambodian Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation (MoSVY) takes on the case and contacts KKEV Cambodia to see if they can take in the children concerned.
Close cooperation with legal guardians in the SCP
Regular visits and discussions between SCP employees and the children's legal guardians help to ensure that they recognise the importance of continuous school attendance for their children and support them in this.
The exchange between the children's village and the SCP
Regular exchanges between the staff of the children's village and the SCP are very helpful and cover both pedagogical topics and the exchange of learning content and methods between teachers. The children enjoy doing sports together (football, volleyball or dance) at least once a week.
